Our Services & Process
Stage 01 — Initial Discussion
A relaxed discussion or site visit to understand your garden, lifestyle and aspirations. We discuss opportunities, constraints, budget and timescales. We get to know you and find out what your priorities are for your garden or outdoor space.
Includes:
A meeting to discuss your brief and ambitions for the garden.
Outline discussion around scope and budget.
We then put together a fee and scope proposal tailored to your project.
Stage 02 — Concept Design
Upon appointment, we will then develop a clear, creative vision for your garden—how it looks, feels and functions.
Includes:
Scaled concept layout.
Initial ideas and design direction.
Site walkover. We will carefully consider soil type, aspect and other relevant site conditions in the context of our expertise in plants to make sure the garden design and planting is appropriate and will thrive.
Mood imagery and material palette.
Outline planting approach and ideas.
We will meet with you to discuss the design as it emerges.
Stage 03 — Developed Design to Final Design
The concept is refined into a detailed design package for the garden. We will also produce a developed planting plan. Planting lies at the heart of our work - we create rich, site-specific schemes designed to thrive and evolve.
Includes:
Detailed layout plans.
Levels and key dimensions where needed (a more accurate site survey may need to be commissioned for this stage, which we can assist in commissioning).
Detailed planting plans, bringing our extensive knowledge of plants and planting combinations to the fore.
Plant schedules and sourcing guidance.
Seasonal structure and combinations.
We can provide a lighting design scheme to complement the garden .
We will meet with you to discuss the design as it is developed and finalised through this process.
Materials and specification guidance for hard landscaping.
Information to allow contractor pricing.
Stage 04 — Tender & Build Support
We can help you bring the design to life by coordinating with trusted landscapers.
We can help you with tendering to a selection of contractors on your behalf if needed.
During the garden build we can provide guidance throughout, including intent support and site visits to make sure the design is realised on site.
Includes:
Preparing information for tender if required.
Reviewing contractor quotes.
Design intent support during build.
We can assist with setting out planting on site ourselves, ensuring the planting layout is realised exactly as intended. Alternatively, we can provide information to assist landscapers.
We can also offer an optional full planting service, where we plant the scheme up ourselves on your behalf, meaning only the hard landscaping needs to be contracted out. Please note: we do not normally undertake hard landscaping works ourselves, but collaborate closely with specialist contractors.
